2 months of DBT means highs, lows and lots of homework. It also means winter is starting to end and the sun came out for a whole weekend.

In the new year I moved back to London, started a new job and started my DBT course - she’s been booked and busy. 4 hours of DBT every week has been LONG and HARD but has taught me some valuable skills in managing my emotions, being mindful, and approaching conversations productively. So far so good:) I’ve at times found it hard to stay motivated for my sessions, and have often found it difficult to go back to work in the afternoon. But as the time has progressed I’ve seen more value in sticking with this course.

In London I’ve been balancing doing the things that are important to me (seeing friends, absolutely bossing my new job, being fit and healthy) and also taking time to check in with myself and make sure I’m taking things at a sustainable pace and prioritising habits that will make me feel good long term. Even though I’m back in London it doesn’t feel like the life I had before I left. Everything feels relatively new and I am rediscovering how to create a life that works for me. Mostly I feel good and recently I have felt anxious, but all of the time I’ve managed to use the resources and skills available to me to handle issues that I’ve come up against.
